Architectural Lighting — solution cover

Architectural Lighting

The Challenge

Architectural lighting has to do two jobs at once: it must disappear into the building fabric, and it must carry the design intent across long, uninterrupted distances. Ordinary fixtures leave visible joints, uneven brightness at the seams, and hot spots where the light source sits too close to the diffuser. On facades and canopies, the fixture also has to survive weather, thermal cycling and years of UV exposure without yellowing or cracking.

Our Approach

Think-max builds architectural linear systems around extruded aluminium profiles and high-density LED engines, so the light reads as a single continuous line rather than a row of separate fittings. Diffusers are co-extruded or made from UV-stabilised PC/PMMA and matched to the profile, which removes the dark bands that appear when a third-party cover is used.

For outdoor and semi-exposed architecture we supply IP65 and IP67 assemblies — sealed end caps, gasketed covers and potted LED engines — tested for facade, soffit and canopy installation.

Typical Applications

  • Facade contour and outline lighting
  • Canopies, soffits and under-croft ceilings
  • Atria, lobbies and double-height spaces
  • Feature walls, columns and stair cores
  • Landscape and bridge handrail lighting

Recommended Systems

Architectural Profile Series

  • AL6063-T5 aluminium extrusion, anodised or powder-coated
  • Standard lengths up to 3 m, joiners for continuous runs
  • 8–20 mm lighting source width, PC / PMMA diffuser options
  • Silver, black, white and custom RAL finishes

High-Density COB & SMD Engines

  • COB strip from 480 to 1,600 LEDs/m for dot-free output
  • CRI 90+ and CRI 95+ options for colour-critical work
  • 2700 K – 6500 K, plus tuneable white and RGBW
  • 24 V DC and AC230V constant-current variants

IP65 / IP67 Assemblies

  • Sealed end caps and gasketed diffusers
  • Potted engines for facade and wash-down zones
  • IK-rated diffusers for public realm installations

Why Think-max

We extrude, anodise, assemble and test in-house, which means the profile, the diffuser and the light engine are designed as one system. Long continuous runs are supplied pre-assembled and pre-tested so the joint lines fall where the design says they should — not where the shipping box ended.

Send us your elevation drawing and we will return a profile schedule, lumen output per metre and a joint layout.
